Base rules

-No flaming
-No insulting
-No plagiarism of another person's work, whether that person is from the site or not.
-No spam

Categorical rules

--Critiquing--
-Be considerate
-If something isn't quite right, explain why--in a nice way--and give advice on how it could be fixed, dont just say 'that's wrong,' then go away.

--Placing previews--

Chapter previews
-Post a short synopsis before placing any closer detail, it makes getting the wide picture easier.
-For the security of your work, the maximum size for any one preview can not go past one chapter. And no more then four chapters of any one story can be posted.
-For previews of ten or less paragraphs the amount can't exceed four chapters worth of accumulated writing.

Plot and location posting
-Post a short synopsis before placing any closer detail.

--Collaborating--
-Set up a system to keep things running smooth. Assign different people to different areas in the project, it will cut down on confusion, misunderstanding, and arguments later on. --Not required, but highly recommended--
-Everyone will have ideas, and everyone's ideas should be heard out and considered.

--After the reviews--
-Ink Quill is a place to build, fix, and solidify your ideas, but it is not the place to act on them. Once you've got all you need from this place and you no longer need any help, take your gathered works off site to play them out.
-The only exception to this is works done purely and strictly for fun, with no intent of ever trying to publish. These stories may be posted in the writing lounge. If, however, at any point in writing, you get an idea to expand on it or you realize it could be bigger or better or publishable, you should immediately transfer the work to an off site word program and remove the story from the lounge.

Spell check did it's job. Those are real words. Weather, aria, and form. It's not grammar check, just spell check. Rolling Eyes

Pro-tip: I always double and triple-check my posts, before submitting them. Then again, I'm dyslexic.

That's where my biggest problem comes. Everyone has their biggest crutch...mine just happens to be spelling; there are so many different ways to spell words. =w=
I'm confident in my ability to punctuate, and my ability to structure sentences and paragraphs is good. My grammar is usually good, I mean I know how to put words together well enough....the only problem is that I don't always put the RIGHT words together. Aria/area, bored/board, their/there--my eyes don't always process the difference...heh. That's easy enough to fix though, I just have to--as you suggested--re-read my work. Its just spelling....agh spelling...

your spelling was ok - the grammer and when to use a certain spelling was off. that's all.

My spelling was okay because I cling to spell check like a cherished teddy. Apparently, however, spell check isn't a safety-net for using the correctly spelled but grammatically wrong word.

A fairly easy--though annoying--fix.

I guess compared to you, Ryue, I'm lucky. I don't put the wrong spelling anywhere unless I either don't know how to spell the word (which doesn't happen often but does happen) or I fat finger a key. ...... or if I am just too tired to form words properly..... lol

But then again, I have almost 10 years of experience over you, so it's been hard-earned. and now I get to feel old.....

BTW, the background picture for this site is AWESOME!!! Can I get it from you?

I have been improving steadily, I'm a lot better then I was just months ago, so its just a matter of time.

And sure, I'll give it to you.
